Short Biography

Ekrem Tatoglu is a distinguished professor in the field of International Business. He holds an MBA from the esteemed University of Nottingham, U.K., and earned his Ph.D. from the University of Leeds, U.K. Throughout his career, Professor Tatoglu has excelled in research and teaching, specializing in International Business and International Strategic Management. His expertise extends to undergraduate, postgraduate, and executive-level education, where he nurtures the intellectual growth of students. Beyond academia, Professor Tatoglu has made significant contributions to policy development and strategic planning, particularly in the realm of foreign direct investment (FDI). He served as the head of the strategic planning unit in the Turkish Prime Ministry and as a principal advisor for the Investment Support and Promotion Agency of Turkey. His research interests encompass global management strategies, FDI in emerging countries, international entry mode strategies, and operations management. He has published over 120 scholarly articles in esteemed international journals, including the British Journal of Management, Management International Review, Journal of World Business, International Business Review, Human Resource Management, International Journal of Human Resource Management, International Marketing Review, Omega, International Journal of Production Research, Industrial Marketing Management, among other distinguished publications. Notably, he co-authored two seminal books, namely "Dimensions of Western Foreign Direct Investment in Turkey" published by Quorum Books, and "Turkish Multinationals" published by Palgrave Macmillan. Professor Tatoglu's scholarly endeavors have garnered significant acclaim at the international level, exemplified by a cumulative Google Scholar citation count surpassing 14,000, coupled with an impressive H-index score of 61, which speaks to the impact and reach of his research. Beyond his prodigious contributions to academic publications, Professor Tatoglu serves as the area editor of the esteemed Journal of Knowledge-Based Organizations, published by the Information Resources Management Association. Additionally, he holds the editorship of Afro Eurasian Studies, a prestigious publication brought forth by MUSIAD. His illustrious journey also includes positions as editorial board members for Employee Relations, published by Emerald Publishing, and European Journal of International Management, and International Journal of Emerging Markets, published by Inderscience, further accentuating his eminence in the academic community. The culmination of his scholarly achievements resulted in the prestigious recognition of being a Fellow of the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA) since 2015, an honor bestowed upon individuals who have demonstrated exemplary contributions to the advancement of science.
