Born in Ordu in 1968, Dr. Lokman Gündüz graduated from Boğaziçi University, Department of Politics and International Relations in 1990. He earned his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Banking at Marmara University, Institute of Banking and Insurance. He served as a financial analyst at Ziraat Bank, as a research fellow at Marmara University, as a full-time lecturer at Beykent University, and as a member of the Auditing Committee at Yapı Kredi. Dr. Gündüz served as a member of the Board of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) between 2005 and 2017. During that period he also served as a board member of risk management committe of the IILM, a subsidiary of the CBRT based in Kuala Lumpur. He joined Istanbul Sehir University in 2017 and served as Chair in International Finance Department and Director at the Graduate School of Business. Dr. Gündüz is now a faculty member at Department of Management at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakif University.  He also serves as the dean of faculty of economics and administrative sciences at the same university.
