The “Business Academy” program organized by our University's School of Business for high school students was held at our Başakşehir Campus on Saturday, April 12, 2025. The event welcomed 11th and 12th grade students from various high schools across Istanbul.
The program, consisting of four sessions, began with a keynote speech by Prof. Selim Zaim. In his presentation titled “Smart Businesses – Management and Decision-Making Through Data Analytics,” Prof. Zaim discussed data-driven decision-making processes in businesses within an increasingly digitalized world, along with artificial intelligence applications and business intelligence concepts.
In the second session, Assist. Prof. Sümeyye Kuşakcı delivered a talk titled “Leadership – Start Shaping the Future with Yourself,” offering a perspective on leadership through the lens of personal development. The session stood out with its inspiring content, encouraging students to discover their own potential.
Following the lunch break, the third session featured Prof. Ümit Hacıoğlu, who gave a presentation entitled “The Heart of Business – Strategic Planning and Goal Setting.” He explored the fundamental principles of strategic management in businesses, the processes of setting goals, and the importance of building a long-term vision.
In the final session of the day, Prof. Tamer Aksoy delivered a presentation titled “Adapting to Change: Self-Discovery and New Career Paths.” His talk focused on raising student awareness regarding adaptability, flexibility, and career planning in today’s rapidly evolving business landscape.
After the academic sessions, students participated in a Kahoot quiz competition, which provided an opportunity to both reinforce what they had learned and enjoy a fun experience. Prizes were awarded to the winners, and all participants received digital certificates.
