Within the scope of IHU Sector Meetings, “The Role of Innate Talent in Entrepreneurship” event was held on Tuesday, November 5.
In the event, which was organized with the intense interest of students and academic staff, Hisense Hvac General Manager Dr. Turhan Karakaya shared insights from personal life experiences, discussing the challenges faced and the journey of becoming an entrepreneur.
In his presentation titled "Entrepreneurship: Innate or Acquired?", Dr. Turhan Karakaya explored the core characteristics of entrepreneurship and whether these traits are innate or developed over time. He described entrepreneurship as a process that brings innovative ideas to life, creating value. Emphasizing that successful entrepreneurship isn’t confined to innate talent alone, Dr. Karakaya pointed out the equal importance of perseverance, the desire to learn, and skills honed through experience. Drawing from his career and personal experiences, he shared insights into overcoming challenges on his entrepreneurial journey and underscored the role of strategic thinking, leadership, and ethics in business. Dr. Karakaya also advocated that entrepreneurship can be taught, and with the right guidance, motivation, and training, anyone has the potential to become an entrepreneur.
